Would you drive a vehicle or use a boat without a fuel gauge or temperature gauge fitted? OEC International wouldn’t recommend you do…!
If you have dual batteries fitted or thinking about fitting a second battery, then fitting a Dualmate Battery Management System is a must. The system includes the following features:
- The ability to start your vehicle from your Auxiliary battery when your Main battery is flat.
- Spike protected and compatible with new vehicle engine systems * see note at end.
- Radio emission tested, recommended for operation with HF and UHF radio systems.
- Accurate voltage display (+/- 5%) on both Main and Auxiliary batteries.
- Fully automatic battery management with manual override.
- Low voltage warnings on Main and Auxiliary batteries.
- High voltage warnings on Main and Auxiliary batteries.
- Microprocessor controlled for reliability.
- Visual and audible warnings.
- Automatic dimming of all displays.
- Gives you the ability to isolate the Auxiliary battery if not being used or is required to be kept in reserve.
- Informs you if your alternator is not keeping up with the load of your accessories.
- Informs you of the condition of your batteries.
- Is simple to fit to almost any vehicle.
- The Dualmate uses self-resetting fuses on all inputs for added safety.
- If your accessories are using too much current and the alternator cannot supply enough charge for your main battery, the Dualmate will automatically isolate the Auxiliary battery and give priority charging to the Main battery. This is constantly monitored by the Dualmate and will connect the Auxiliary battery when there is enough charge for both.
Can I use it on my new vehicle fitted with an ECU?
The Dualmate has also been tested for EMI (electrical magnetic interference) and is highly recommended for vehicles with HF radios and sensitive electronic equipment. Contrary to popular belief, solenoids CAN BE USED in modern vehicles with computer controlled engine management systems, provided they are fitted with spike suppression. Spike suppression is supplied in the Dualmate fitting kit and is easy to install. The Dualmate is designed to connect to an existing solenoid system.
Before fitting a Dualmate Battery Management System, OEC International assume you already have a main battery, auxiliary battery and a battery isolator solenoid fitted. For further information on a basic isolator solenoid system see OEC International's A.B.I.S.
