4x4 Adventures Winch Challenge 2008

In association with X-Engineering (X-Eng) OEC International are proud sponsors and shared co-ordinators of the 2008 4x4 Adventures Winch Challenge Series.
Thinking of competing? You will require dedication, determination and a will to succeed to
win, not to mention a competent crew and a reliable vehicle! You can
expect to be cold, tired and wet whilst pushing both yourself and your
vehicle to the limit.
The events will be held in the South West across various locations with one event every 2 months.
There will be one two-day event, this will be scored on a daily basis.
The series consists of 7 one-day events, two of which will be held back to back over a single weekend.
If you score in more than 5 events your top 5 results will be taken for the series.
Points will be allocated for positions achieved at each event, per class, these will go towards the overall series classes.
A running points score will be published on this website.
Positions at each event will be achieved on a points basis. Points will
be awarded for punch collection using the Chris Watts scoring method -
the fewer people who achieve a punch the more it is worth.
There will be prizes for the seriess 1st to 3rd in each
class, plus individual event prizes for 1st in each class.
In order to participate you must register for the series.
Registration costs £25.
Once registered you will receive:

A £5 discount off the series events you enter.

A series T shirt.

A series Winch Blanket
-
2 Series Vehicle number stickers.
The series launches on Saturday 23rd February 2008 at Bampton. A complete list of events can be found on www.4x4adventures.co.uk when you register.
In addition to the usual 4x4 Adventures Winch Challenge rules and regulations to participate in the series you must also comply with these additional items.

The driver and vehicle must be registered.
Co-drivers do not need to be registered.

Only one person in the vehicle must be registered to enter the series.

The event is a single vehicle entry.
Competitors are NOT permitted to enter to support another competitor.
If this is suspected all competitors involved will be disqualified from the series.

You are permitted to enter the events individually without entering the series.

The organisers decision is final.

Any competitor found to be in disrepute of the rules and regulations will be disqualified.

In order for your score to count for the series the driver must be
registered and in the same series registered vehicle for all events.

You can change co-drivers over the series but you are only permitted one co-driver per event.
Spectators are welcome unless stated otherwise, please see the 4x4 adventures diary page for details.
However we do ask that all specators follow the following guidelines.

The
forum categories are designed for anyone planning, currently
undertaking or having done an overland trip and looking for valuable
tips, needing help, wanting to share their experiences or just simply

out aloud or casts any assertions …THIS IS NOT an OEC4x4 marketing
ploy! As OEC4x4 has joined an existing forum with an already discerning
membership and professional board of moderators the Overland sections
will be vigilantly moderated by both members and moderators external to
OEC4x4 for any blatant blogs. So have no fear, OEC4x4 is there to
sponsor the section and offer free, genuine information and
advice based on one company’s collective overland and 4x4 experience!
